QMB ROOKIE OF THE YEAR GOES TO
"JERRON SETTLES"


Jerron Settles made his debute in drag racing in 2006 driving  his EJ Parker sponsored Dragster.  Jerron finished in the top 20 in points out 300 cars in Florida.  He won a $5,000 meet at Atco Raceway and finished 8th place in the points in the ET Raiders Series.  Not bad for his first year out.  We congratulate this young bracketeer and crown him our "QMB Rookie of the Year for 2006".

Jerron is not only a great racer he is also one of the top custom painters on the eastcoast, check out the paint job on his dragster. This young brother has really got it going on.

QMB JUNIOR DRAGSTER DRIVER OF THE YEAR GOES TO
"CARLTON THORTON"
 Carlton Thorton was #2 in the points in the ET Raiders Series.  Carlton won the 2006 Race of Champions at Mason Dixon Raceway in Hagerstown, MD.   Carlton also finished #1 in the points at Virginia Motorsport Park in Petersburg, VA  in the Junior Dragster Class.   We congratulate this young brother and crown him our  "QMB Junior Dragster Driver of the Year for 2006".

In July 2006 J.R. Todd (Top Fuel Driver) made drag racing history by becoming the first African American to win a final in Top Fuel at a National NHRA Event.  J.R. Todd was also named Rookie of the Year for 2006. (Click to Review Full Story)

In August 2006 two 'Brothers' won the #1 spot in points at Capitol Raceway

In September 2006 the 'Brothers' took the #2 and #3 spots in qualifying at the Torco Race Fuel President's Cup Nationals at Maryland International Raceway. Amar Riley took the #2 spot with 6.702 @ 208.68 mph and Troy Henderson took the #3 spot with a 6.720 @ 207.62 mph. (Click to Review Full Story)
