The Passing of a Drag Racing Legend (Eddie Freeman)
We  are truly sorry to report that Eddie Freeman of the Freeman Brother's Racing Team passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the age of 57.
As you all know, the Freeman Brother's  Racing Team has been around for decades, we had the pleasure of speaking with Vernon Freeman at MIR last year and he told us that Eddie had been hospitalized.  Eddie and the Freeman Brother's Racing Team were best known for their  fast 1968 Black Camaro; similar to the car that the team races today.  They also had a Grand Stand at Maryland International Raceway (MIR) named after them. The Freeman Brothers were frequent faces at all the MIR Big Racing Events.
Eddie Freeman was a true racing icon, a legend in his own time. He will be missed by all in the racing community. We send our Condolences out to Vernon and the Freeman Family.
If any of our readers have any details on the funeral arrangements please email that information to us at ETRacer@QuarterMileBrothers.com.
We are sure that Eddie's fellow racers would like to show their last respects and to say good bye to  Eddie Freeman a " Drag Racing Legend".

Spence and Crew Heat Up The Track

On Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Maryland International Raceway, Chris Butler driving the 1969 Camaro owned by Spence heated  up the track making a fantastic run of 7.62 @ 186 mph.  It was the fastest car at the track.  Spence and his crew came to the track with three cars in tow a 69 Black Camaro, 67 Green Nova and a 69 Green Camaro.  The Nova got a little out of shape at the 1/8 mile so Chris had to let out.  We didn't get to see the Green Camaro run but if it ran anything like the other cars I'm sure it would have been great.  We congratulate Chris for a great pass and Spence and crew for putting on a great show.
