Runner –Up Finish for the D&M Racing Team Driver Mike Henry drove his Kustom Koffin 1981 camaro to the top sportsman finals at the 35th Annual Fox Hunt at Sacramento Raceway Park on Saturday, July 12, 2008. After having the first qualifying run disqualified there was only one more shot left to qualify and with temperatures in the 90s’, the team would have their hands full. But no one knew the ace they had up their sleeves. Legendary nitrous tuner Pat Watson took the little 565ci T&S Enterprises built engine to the #2 spot with a 7.28 @ 189mph earning the team a bye run in the first round. In round two, it was Madson Racing that went home as Mike Henry also collected the $200 bounty that was anonymously posted upon taking out the Madson Racing Team. The car was like a bracket car running 7.28s’ all day long taking out big teams along the way. In the semi-finals Sarmento Racing’s 2008 GT500 went home with a loosing -.001 red light to send the D&M Racing Team to its first final in top sportsman. In the final round Mike was beat on a holeshot running another 7.28. “After that horrific nitrous explosion I suffered in Utah and this being my first event back I think we did pretty well. The whole team, including sponsor Dan Marley of Kustom Koffins worked hard to get the car back together in time for this race”. D&M Racing Team will head off to Medford, Oregon to try and get that first win. “I’d like to thank everyone that help get me to where I am, Kustom Koffins, Watson Performance, IBEW Local 6, Gotelli Speed Shop, Sunset Garage, T&S Enterprises and Siglo Plumbing Supply. A special thanks to Bob Bunker, Spec Rite Torque Converters and QuartermileDesigns.com. Sponsor links: koffinapparel.com
