The Brothers Leave North Vs South and Head to Waynesboro, VA

The bump spot at Eastside Speedway on Saturday, October 27, 2007 was in the 5 second range.  After the North Vs South was rained out at Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg, VA on Saturday a few of The Southern Outlaw Doorslammer's premiere talent decided to take it straight over the Afton Mountain to Eastside Speedway in Waynesboro, VA.  When the "Brothers" (Ken Griffin Jr, Booth Trucking, Joe Smith and  Troy Henderson)  invaded Eastside Speedway on Sunday, October 28, 2007 the bump spot fell to a 4.59 with Ken Griffin, Jr. qualifying in the #3 spot on raw horsepower with a 4.42 @ 163.24 mph driving through severe tire shake.  Matt Suite putting Tim Booth's Hass Cutlass in the #4 spot and none other than the "Short Dog" Troy Henderson qualified in the #7 spot for the Halloween Classic Ultra Quick 8.  Severe tire shake in the first round would end Griffin's day shaking the tires so bad that his parachutes deployed.  But the Jerry Hass Cutlass of Tim Booth driven by Matt Suite would march to the final round before falling to Randy Perkins on a hole shot.

Jackson & Thompson Shows Spectator Appreciation at North Vs South

Rodney "RJ" Jackson and Larry Thompson the sponsors of the North Vs South race that was scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Virginia Motorsports Park went above and beyond to please everyone.  The rain stopped on Saturday morning so the race was scheduled to be run; the North Cars and South Cars where in attendance; along with test & tuners and alot of spectators. But with hours of work by track officials they where unable to dry the track to a  point where it would be safe for racers to race.  At about 6:00 p.m. RJ and Larry made the announcement that the race would have to be cancelled.  RJ and Larry also wanted to let the Racers and Spectators know that they appreciated their support and announced that everyone that paid to come to the race that was still in attendance would be reimbursed in full  as long as they had their tickets and arm bands.  RJ and Larry also looked out for the North Vs South Racers for making the trip to the track.  We would like to thank RJ and Larry for showing us what "Spectator Appreciation" really means.
