“The Brunson Brothers”

Charles & Vincent Brunson, “The Brunson Brothers” first racing experience came back in the early 1960's when their father took them to Aquasco Speedway and the rest is history.  They started their racing career as teenagers racing at Aquasco Speedway. Their first cars were a 1955 Chevy and 1966 Chevelle. The 55 Chevy was campaigned in the stock class and the 66 Chevelle was campaigned in the very first series of bracket racing. The brothers and their team have had several race cars throughout their racing careers.

One car that many will remember would be the “Kiss” Chevelle one of the first cars in the Washington, DC area that ran on nitrous oxide, propelling the car to astonishing times of 9.0s at a time when the pro stock record was 8.70s.

You can still see the Brunson Brothers racing down the quarter mile almost every weekend at Capitol Raceway in either their 1966 Chevy II or the “Brunson Racing” Dragster.

The team has spanned through several generations as you can see in the picture.
