D&M Racing Team Back In Action (Written & Submitted by Mike Henry - San Francisco, CA) It's been a year since Mike Henry has been in competition and for his family owned D&M Racing Team they're back and ready to rock! The team will compete at this weekend's Pinks All Out at Infineon Raceway in preparation for the 41st Annual Governor's Cup at Sacramento Raceway. Mike will again be piloting the famous 1981 Kustom Koffin, Gotelli Speed Shop sponsored Camaro, a car that has shown some good numbers in testing. He will make his presence felt in the ever popular Pro Slammers Door Car Association for the Governor's Cup where he serves as the vice president. The Pro Slammers 7.00 race on a heads up index and is the fastest door slammer index class in the country.
"After working in the shop and getting my own engine program off the ground I'm now ready to see the results of all of that hard work. We did some testing at the Fox Hunt and we went 7.38 clicking it off at the 1000' which wasn't bad for the little 565ci BBC. The best thing out of the whole deal was not only building my own stuff but having my 14yr old son(Lil Mike) as my crew chief. He has really stepped up and matured over the last year, especially assisting with the nitrous tuning. I did some driving duties for other teams to keep me fresh and tuned some nitrous stuff but it's just good to be back full time. Our goal for Pinks is to put the car in the 6's because we'll need that kind of power for the Governor's Cup. We're doing some R&D on a few things which should show some significant gains as we only run 1 nitrous system on this little monster". Mike Henry
