Mother Nature Brings the Race to an End
at Custom Ts Independence Day Shootout

Custom Ts Racing hosted the Annual Independence Day Shootout at
Colonial Beach Dragway on Sunday, July 3, 2011. The day started later
than normal due to the high temperature; but that didn't stop the racers and
spectators from coming out. We had a full house. At the start of this event
everything was going pretty smooth and on time. But as the track temperature
increased so did the down time. With oil downs and technical problems with the
track's new timing system; the day did not go as expected. As the first round
of competition in all classes came to an end so did the race. Mother nature
made her grand appearance with thunder, lighting and heavy rains.
At this point Custom Ts had no choice but to call it a day.

As the promoter of this event, Custom Ts main objective is to always
look out for the racers and that he did. At the end of the night Custom Ts
thought that it was only fair that all the purse money in each class be
divided up equally with the racers who won first round.

Custom Ts and Quarter Mile Brothers would like to say thank you
to all the racers and spectators that came out to support this race.
We look forward to seeing you all at our next event.
