Family Day at the Races With Mike Henry Despite a first round loss by .007 Mike Henry still had a winning weekend. At the 28th annual Funny Car Fever put on by 619 Promotions, Henry and his Racing 4 Life after-school program brought 40 at-risk kids from San Francisco to this event. Most of them have never left the inner city life let alone going to a drag racing event. All of the kids were excited and had a really great time. They stood in the stands and twirled their Racing 4 Life towels while feeling the thunder of the team’s 1981 Kustom Koffin Apparel Camaro as it passed by. This was the first race for Mike Henry in A-Gas trim so it was tough trying to slow down and run the 7.60 dial. But, with the help of T&S Enterprise’s owner Tim Stefan, Mike is sure they will pull down a few wins this year. “I just wanted to expose the youth to something else besides drugs and violence. I felt I had to do something for them and that’s why I do a weekly automotive program with them so that they have as many options to choose from as possible. With donations from a lot of people this event was a huge success. This was better than winning a race because we’re saving lives” Mike Henry Thanks to: Kustom Koffin Apparel; Spec Rite Torque Converters; Schuck’s Transmissions; T&S Enterprises; 1320 The Magazine; The Bayview Entertainment Society; Quartermile Designs; Gotelli Speed Shop; Fault Line Screen Printing; Sigilo Plumbing Supply; 619 Promotions; Cal Comfort; IBEW Local 6; Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation; Sugar Bowl Bakery; Pralines by Evyonne; Kennedy’s Liquors; Bayview Liquors; G.
