Pro Slammers, On Fire with $5000 Payout The 7 Second Pro Slammers Association is gaining momentum as the word of the $5000 guaranteed payout at the first event spreads. With a guaranteed purse to the winner and runner up; it’s no wonder why this association has spread like a wild fire. At the request of multiple teams, Pro Slammers will have a special test session held at Sacramento Raceway on March 27th in preparation for the first race, “Funny Car Fever” hosted by 619 Promotions. Since its inception, the newly formed class has drawn a lot of interest from teams in and around California, Arizona and even as far as Alaska. “In today’s economy if you want to make it you’d better give something to the racers or they will park their cars and that’s what Pro Slammers is here for. We didn’t have a choice we had to start this association because of a need to fill the gaps of classes falling off, others having too many rules and let’s face it the fans want “heads up” 7.0 racing. Just look at the trend of the TV shows and most track formats, it’s clear to see where the demand is”, says the PDSCA. Teams are signing up from Nevada and Oregon that are going to run with the Pro Slammers and that is great news for a new association. Daryl Jensen’s 59 Corvette; John Overholser’s beautiful 1956 Chevy ; along with Howard Anderson’s 38’ Chevy Coupe; and The Mallicoat Brothers 68 Cuda are just a few of the guys that support this class. The emails and calls are rolling in and we believe that Pro Slammers will be a premier class on the West Coast. There are a lot of guys who needed this to happen, either because of finances or just wanted to try something different. What ever the case Pro Slammers welcomes them and others as 2010 will be a season to remember. The management at Sacramento Raceway Park has supported us on everything we plan on doing at their facility which will make it enjoyable for all the teams. The National Dragster has been publishing our news, 1320 The Magazine will cover each event along with photos from Quarter Mile Designs (QMD) and videos from others, so even if you can’t make it to an event we will bring it to you!
