A Look At OPS Driver - Sammy Carter Jr.


Sammy Carter Jr.  better known as Kaboom Motorsports along with his best friend Alby and his Uncle Pat Young started out bracket racing in 1986. Sammy raced his first car a 1968 Chevelle at 75-80 in Monrovia, MD .

He also raced in the Hot Rod class ; he raced a 1971 Monte Carlo in a heads up class, and in NMCA and easy street in 1990.

In 1992 they started a class called OPS (Outlaw Pro Street) with a few others racers at 75-80 Dragway until 1996.

In 1996 the team purchased another car which was another 1968 Chevelle that Sammy took to the winner's cirlce in a Super Chevy Race at VMP in Dinwiddie, VA. Sammy was also runner up at Maple Grove that year.

In 2000 Sammy purchased a 1978 Monza which he raced in OPS Class for 3 years.

In 2004 he purchased a 1986 Mustang that was powered by a big block chevy which he also raced in the OPS Class at several local tracks (75-80, Capitol Raceway, Maryland Intl Raceway, Cecil County Raceway  and a few out of town tracks.

In 2009 Sammy formed a partnership with Rob Hendricks which they now race a 1957 Red Chevy Outlaw. Team "Double Trouble" is now making updates for the 2010 Racing Season.
